The 4-H Youth Development Program - Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Atlantic County encourages young people to succeed by offering confidence, compassion and connections with caring adults to make contributions to their communities. 4-H gives kids positive ways to improve themselves, their families and communities - through activities like leadership training, public speaking, learning to cook, learning about wildlife, woodworking, aerospace, photography, raising a pet, skateboarding - and a whole lot more. 4-H clubs are intentionally designed to include critical elements necessary for positive youth development. These elements include: positive relationships, opportunities for self-determination, an accepting and inclusive environment, and a safe environment for learning and growing. We now offer programming directly to youth of Atlantic City and the island communities at Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Atlantic County Urban Outreach Center The Center is located at The Garage, Gordons Alley, in Atlantic City. Adult residents are encouraged to take active volunteer roles in providing afterschool and evening club activities.
