The Community Development Program - Atlantic County Improvement Authority - Home Buyers Program helps increase home ownership opportunities in Atlantic County. This program helps overcome the obstacles created by the down payment and closing cost requirements faced by low and moderate income families when purchasing a home. To be eligible, persons must have resided in Atlantic County for the last 12 months or be employed in Atlantic County, can not have owned a home for the last three years, and must have acceptable credit to obtain FHA mortgages. There are also particular income levels that must be met. The program will provide up to $10,000 to bridge the gap between what the home buyer has and what the lender requires for down payment and closing costs. This loan is forgivable assuming certain conditions are met.
