Community Mediation Services (CMS) provides dispute resolution services. This program brings people together with a trained neutral third party to work out conflicts. Parties involved in a dispute work together in reaching a settlement acceptable to both sides. Upon resolution, parties sign a mediaton agreement. If a satisfactory resolution is not agreed upon, this matter can be brought before a judge. Community Mediation Services (CMS) deals with many issues: custody/parenting plan disputes, youth/adult conflict, neighborhood problems (pet control, trash, noise, harrassment, uncontrolled kids, etc.), disputes over money, personal property damage, merchant/consumer disagreements, employer/employee conflict, landlord/tenant, interpersonal disputes, and nonviolent domestic disputes.
